Wishing you a joyous and colourful new year!
Dear friends of Your Colourful Mind,
this is the last and shortest post of the year 2016.
I’ll just show you how I created my ‘Happy New Year’ T-shirt:
‘Happy New Year’ fabric painting project
Recently, I had carved all the letters of the alphabet from rubber blocks.
The prints of the letters are not very strong-coloured, thus I decided to give them round backgrounds.
These are the stamps I used in this project:
First, I stamped the background circles:
And then I used the letters to print the new year wishes:
This was the result:
To be honest, I was not very proud and happy about the results:
- I worked too quickly and didn’t prepare the printing properly: I didn’t make sure that the prints were arranged in the middle of the T-shirt.
- The T-shirt also looked a bit pale. I wanted to wear it at new year’s eve, but for that occasion it definitely wasn’t colourful enough.
So, I thought about how I could improve the results.
As I couldn’t do anything about the first point, I concentrated on the second.
The plan was, to use fabric colour sprays to add some additional colour.
So I had to prepare the T-Shirt for the spraying process:
This is the final result:
It’s still not a master piece but at least it’s more colourful now. 🙂
May the New Year bring you more success in your fabric painting projects,
but also, and that’s much more important,
Health, Piece and Happiness!
Wish you all the best,
