No 29 – Fabric painting – an attractive alternative to adult colouring books

Dear friends of Your Colourful Mind

Adult colouring books are so popular

because many stressed people value them as

  • a kind of therapy,
  • an opportunity to reduce the hectic of our digitalised lives,
  • an easy way to calm down.

But colouring-in adult colouring books is only one way to relax and reduce stress-levels.

There are other more creative and productive methods.

Consider fabric painting as your favourite relaxing, creative and joyful activity:

Relax creatively with fabric painting.

  • Painting on fabric is a relaxing and mindful activity:

Focusing on your design idea helps to calm down, and as soon as you sit down and get the paints and other equipment out, feelings of stress disappear.

Create individual & colourful designs.

  • Fabric painting also allows you to be creative and productive:

While creatively adding patterns and colours to your garments, you produce one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art.

Enjoy the fun of fabric painting!

  • And fabric painting is an easy-to-do activity:

You don’t need any experience, or talent, or training, – everyone can start it and will over time develop different techniques and a personal style.

Next time (Post No 30), we will discuss the pros and cons of adult colouring books and fabric painting.

And then we plan to present several example projects showing how we can create our own colouring-in designs on fabric.

And why this might be more fun than just colouring-in books! 🙂

  1. Hi Margot,

I did some chalk painting when I was young. I might try the fabric painting now to relax, based on your great examples.
